Cookie Policy

BoreCast uses a short list of cookies and browser storage keys. Most are strictly necessary for sign-in and the demo quota. Two (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) are optional analytics that only run on our public marketing pages, not inside the signed-in application.

Strictly necessary

• better-auth.session_token — httpOnly, secure, SameSite Lax. Keeps you signed in. Required for the Service.
• borecast_demo_id — localStorage UUID used only to enforce the anonymous demo query cap.
• borecast_cookie_consent — localStorage flag that records you dismissed the cookie banner so we do not re-show it.
• siq-theme — localStorage key remembering your light/dark theme preference.

Analytics (marketing pages only)

• _ga — Google Analytics 4. Aggregated traffic analytics on public marketing pages. Not active in the app.
• _clck, _clsk — Microsoft Clarity. Heatmaps and session replay on public marketing pages. Not active in the app.

How to opt out

You can block or delete the analytics cookies at any time using your browser settings or a browser extension such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger. Blocking them will not affect your ability to sign in or use BoreCast. The strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in; if you do not want to accept them, please do not create an account.
